In the early hours of Saturday May 28, 2016 unknown gunmen raided the house of a man named Joseph Msen Akosu and killed him with his wife after which they were burnt beyond recognition.
This took place at Abinsi, Guma LGA of Benue State. The cause of this brutality isn't clear yet but speculations have it that it was as a result of land disputes between the Tivs.

Police spokesman in the state, ASP. Moses Yamu, who confirmed the incident, said that the killers of the couple set the couple and their home ablaze before the police arrived at the scene to recover empty shell of rifle at the scene in Agasha, a suburb community of Makurdi metropolis.

He further explained that the mission of the arsonist against the couple could not be immediately ascertained but that the deceased Okoh had been on the wanted list of police on suspicion of cultism.
